Applied Psychology and Ergonomics The course in Applied Psychology and Ergonomics provides students with competencies and methods to design interactive systems oriented to the users’ and operators’ objectives and characteristics. The research activity is aimed both at the evaluation of existing systems so as to re-modulate them within a user-centred approach, and at designing new systems defined by effective interactions between technical and human, organizational and cultural components. Research studies mainly focus on the cognitive load evaluation both in everyday and in work activities, and on the detection and reduction of ergonomic risks in working situations, within an interdisciplinary approach where physical, cognitive and organizational aspects of ergonomics are investigated.
